Using the Internet to win marketshare: A True Story

Stein, Co-founder of Advertising.com will explain how he lead his team to think in a new way to build an online advertising company that proved successful in bringing marketers unparalleled competitive advantage in capturing market share. His company was so successful that it was bought by AOL in 2004 for US$435 million dollars in cash.

At the event Stein, will give a colorful and simple introduction to his highly mathematical approach that changed the way advertising was run in order to benefit from the internets unique strengths. Stein will also feature case studies of how and why marketers - especially in the financial services and banking industry - adopted these new ideas, and finally some opinions on how advertisers in China can apply these ideas to winning market share.

BIO
Stein Kretsinger co-founded Advertising.com, one of the world's largest online media networks and earliest pioneer of performance based online advertising.

Prior to that, he was VP of Business Development for Value America.
Stein began his career at CapitalOne, where he was the ninth employee.
While there, he built several of the company's first segmentation strategies and launched CapitalOne's initiative into the subprime credit market which today generates 40%+ of CapitalOne's revenues.

Stein and holds an MS in Systems Engineering and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia
