Wanmo enlists digital marketing guru to head up ad agency consulting division

2008年10月: Wanmo Performance Advertising, China’s leading online advertising solutions provider, announced today it has appointed Shane Crombie as director of its ad agency consulting division. The addition of Crombie, a digital marketing veteran, significantly boosts Wanmo’s capabilities in delivering targeted online advertising solutions to professional advertisers in mainland China.

As consulting director, Crombie will be assisting advertising firms with integrating digital marketing strategies into their advertising plans. Specifically, his undertaking will be to harness the full power of Wanmo’s unique targeting technology, which makes use of legally available consumer data to place individually targeted full-page ads to a specific audience, so that advertisers can reach the consumers that are critical to their success.

“It is clear by now that the Internet can be an extremely powerful tool for advertisers to reach and engage their target audiences in China,” said Byron Constable, chairman of Wanmo. Yet, the industry has struggled with making it simple, profitable and valuable for professional advertisers to tap into the Internet’s full potential. However, with the tenure of Shane, who has intimate knowledge of the needs and workflows of advertisers, Wanmo is now fully equipped to change that.”

Prior to joining Wanmo, Crombie served as national digital director at Universal McCann China. He began his career in the United States in 1996 at Euro RSCG, and subsequently moved to other advertising giants such as Young & Rubicam, DBB, and Carat Group. Throughout his career Crombie has developed digital marketing programs for clients including Pepsi, Jaguar, Microsoft, McDonald’s, Cathay Pacific, Intel, and Tiffany & Co, among other powerful brands.

But it was during his tenure at McCann when Crombie first experienced Wanmo’s advanced targeting technology: “We had a number of client projects for which we engaged Wanmo and its targeted advertising solutions,” recalled Crombie. “And when the results started pouring in, I was so consistently impressed that I decided to join the company on a full-time basis. Equally as decisive was Wanmo’s commitment to targeted advertising, which I firmly believe is poised for explosive growth in the coming years.
